My husband calls this angry women music! I can’t help but adore Tori Amos and this album in particular, as it was the soundscape of my late teens and early 20’s. An incredible story teller and artist, this album, perhaps more than the others I feel, explores a vast emotional repertoire.

A favourite is Precious Things. Not a song for everyone, I have to be honest, as the lyrics cover some challenging topics but the tension created by the drums against the frantic melody is a reflection of our inner world. Have a listen to Tori in her prime and arguably the best live concert ever performed:

For 4 minutes, I can be angry with Tori and get away with it!
