About Me

I am a passionate advocate for the transformative power of music in emotional healing. With years of experience as a vocalist and an understanding of the profound impact of grief, trauma, and mental health challenges, I created Music for Grief as a safe space for anyone seeking solace through sound. My mission is to share the therapeutic benefits of singing and help others unlock their own potential for healing and growth.

Why Music? Why Singing?

Music has the power to touch places words cannot reach. Singing, in particular, offers a deeply therapeutic outlet for releasing emotions, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of connection and purpose. Research shows that singing can:

  • Boost mental health by releasing endorphins and reducing cortisol levels.

  • Enhance emotional expression, providing a safe space for processing grief.

  • Improve physical well-being by encouraging deep breathing and relaxation.

  • Foster a sense of community, helping you feel connected and supported.

For those managing PTSD, anxiety, and grief, singing can be a gentle yet powerful tool to reestablish balance, calm the nervous system, and build emotional resilience.

Music Provides Comfort in Grief

Singer I Researcher I Author

Welcome to Music for Grief, a space born from personal loss and the discovery of music’s restorative power. After losing my mother and grandparents in one season, I found myself lost, grappling with grief. One winter day, on an isolated beach, a single scream became the beginning of my healing. Releasing my voice shattered the silence of despair and set me on a path toward renewal.

Singing has since become my anchor. It helps release emotions, soothe trauma, and foster resilience. Years of study at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music deepened my understanding of how music restores mental health. I’ve performed on grand stages and in intimate spaces, even singing for those in end-of-life care—an experience of profound humility and connection.

Grief and trauma are deeply personal. There’s no universal path to healing; each journey is unique. For me, music became a bridge back to joy and purpose. It taught me that unprocessed grief affects both body and mind, and only through expressing it can we begin to heal.

With over 20 years in law enforcement, I’ve witnessed the toll trauma takes on the human spirit. My own battle with PTSD brought a wave of buried grief to the surface. Sharing this journey is an act of vulnerability, but it’s essential to break the silence that holds so many captive.

Music for Grief offers tools and insights to help you find your unique path to healing. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and rediscover life’s harmony.
